The app I'm develop is a kind of gambling game, the player(s) will need to guess the middle number between 2 numbers (e.g 0 to 50, guess a number between 0 and 50).


The guidelines that I definitely do not violate are:

2.3.1 - I do not have such feature

3.1.1 - I do use in-app purchase to remove ads

4.3.0 - I do search the AppStore for similar game, but none of it I've found

5.2.1 - It's definitely my product



5.3.4 - What kind of licensing do I need? I only use AdMobs on my app, and other resources and assets are created by myself

This type of app has been identified as one that may violate one or more of the following App Store Review Guidelines. Specifically, these types of apps often:


1.1.6 - Include false information, features, or misleading metadata.

2.3.0 - Undergo significant concept changes after approval

2.3.1 - Have hidden or undocumented features, including hidden "switches" that redirect to a gambling or lottery website

3.1.1 - Use payment mechanisms other than in-app purchase to unlock features or functionality in the app

4.3.0 - Are a duplicate of another app or are conspicuously similar to another app

5.2.1 - Were not submitted by the legal entity that owns and is responsible for offering any services provided by the app

5.3.4 - Do not have the necessary licensing and permissions for all the locations where the app is used


Before we can continue with our review, please confirm that this app does not violate any of the above guidelines. You may reply to this message in Resolution Center or the App Review Information section in iTunes Connect to verify this app’s compliance.


Given the tendency for apps of this type to violate the aforementioned guidelines, this review will take additional time. If at any time we discover that this app is in violation of these guidelines, the app will be rejected and removed from the App Store, and it may result in the termination of your Apple Developer Program account.

If the app qualifies as formal gambling, you need to demonstrate related gaming licensing. Don't dismiss 'kind of' when saying gambling. Some countries take a dim view of any game of chance. Did you use that word in any of the meta data?


As for 2.1, I suspect they're saying your app looks rough/basic/not professional.


Otherwise, you've two you haven't covered... Let's summarize:

My guess is Robby Review-Bot read the tea leaves on your app and dutifully spit out a laundry list, leaving you, the dev, to effectively self-review. By the way, how many apps have you submitted, and how many are already in the store? You said brand new app...are you a brand new dev?


There is no "2.3.0. Undergo significant concept changes after approval." in the currrent ASRGs. There is 2.4.5 iv:

(iv) They may not download or install standalone apps, kexts, additional code, or resources to add functionality or significantly change the app from what we see during the review process.


Not seeing your app, like you and the bot have, I'd guess 2.3.0 (again, there is no 2.3.0, so my guess is the bot meant all of '2.3 Accurate Metadata'...2.3.1 ~ 2.3.11) is the hot spot (and a continuation of 2.1), with odds-on 1.1.6 as a catch-all, tossed in for later/closer inspection by a human, just in case they need to use the hook. That, or you did make a false claim in the app and/or meta data. Be sure to check your info. Might want to have someone take a second look, just to be sure.


I'd put as much polish on it as you can muster, add more features, showcase the platform and re-submit. Just don't treat that list as exhaustive.


Tip - pls. be careful w/the 'hi guys' greeting....
