Can't unlock the iPhone X simulator

Does anyone else have this issue? I can't unlock the simulator after pressing the power button on the left (or Cmd + L). It says "Swipe up" to unlock, but when I swipe the notifications go up instead of it unlocking. I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Had the same problem with Xcode 9.0.1, which is why I found this thread.


This has been fixed with 9.1, though. After reading about this in another thread (https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/86779), I tried the updated and could verify that it works as expected now.
