My developer member is trying to:
- check if people are around us using background execution with server requests every 30 seconds or so
He advised me that iOS 10 doesn't allow this anymore, so I am trying to get help here maybe we can be given access. So he advised if I can ask Apple if we can make server request in background every 30 second to check if someone is near us, if so then we'll send a push notification to users (to notify that some users are near you) as it is a crucial requirement in our app. He is using Swift.
This is my case number (100071481625)
… background execution every 30 seconds …
It’s simply not possible to meet this goạl within the confines of the iOS SDK and the associated App Review guidelines. Even if you could do this, it would seriously compromise the device’s standby battery life (which is why iOS works hard to prevent it). You will need to rethink your app’s design.
