where is el capitan beta 2?

It's not in App Store updates and when I click on the beta 2 in my developer account it tells me the code has already been used.

EDIT:

There may be a better solution to this problem (If it works for you then it's certainly preferable to having to continually having to update from links):

sudo softwareupdate --set-catalog https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-10.11seed-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz

The above command should set the update catalog correctly (something that doesn't seem to be happening automatically for some).

If that doesn't work then you can still download the DP2 updates as a .pkg file direct from Apple's CDN:

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/07/10/031-25506/wy6k3cd22jejq1j83kmahud7zwbaxid2z6/OSXUpd10.11.pkg

for the main DP2

for the recovery HD update

AND (previously missing from my post)

I was just about to post the exact same thing - I'm in the UK, you? It could be a regional thing as in phased updates.

Edit: iOS 9 Beta 2 has just become available OTA on my iPhone 6 Plus. Hopefully El Capitan is not far behind!

I'm in the UK too and was able to download it from the app store about half an hour ago.

Same here - code has already been redeemed. Now what?

It should appear as a Software Update. There is no need to redownload the application itself.

If you look hard enough, there are a few sites already listing the URL to download the update as a .pkg file direct from Apple's CDN. I'm not going to post the link though, you'll have to find it yourself. You might want to get the Recovery partition update too if you decide to go ahead with the pkg rather than App Store

Just checked about 30 minutes ago (in UK) and there it was as App Store Update. Now installed on late 2012 iMac. First problem was my wired keyboard would not accept password. Unplugged USB keyboard and plugged in. Now working so there must be a USB glitch.

Thank you - yes, it appears as an update in the App Store rather than downloading from the beta software site.

I've seen that before somewhere, usually because it's expecting a US keyboard layout.

Still not showing in my app store and I am in OHIO USA!!!! What is going on???

It wasn't showing for me either. Checking in System Preferences -> App Store, nothing was listed about pre-release seeds.

To fix it I had to set my update catalog manual using:

sudo softwareupdate --set-catalog <URL>

I won't link to the catalog url, but it isn't difficult to find.

After changing my update catalog, The App Store preference pane now shows that I am set to recieve pre-release update seeds, and the app store found Beta 2 without issue.

I understand the NDA restrictions, but this is a protected developer site - controlled by Apple, no less. I would think it prudent to help each other completely. We all paid to be here and if there is a legitimate problem, we should help each other. I have no idea what the catalog url is since what I thought it was didn't work. The developer beta 2 does not show on the App Store and I am running beta 1. So if there is an apple person here that can help me - fine, otherwise I need help somehow! It ticks me that there is not another way to get the betas!!

I thank you for that! I'm not sure why Apple would have an issue with it other than they may want to troubleshoot why I am having the problem. I installed DP1 on a SSD partition in a clean install. I don't understand why the upgrade would not have been visible but I did migrate my data from Yosemite so maybe some file that migrated screwed it up.

I have one other question - Do you know what machines received a firmware update? Mine is a MBP 2010 2.66 i7 and I didn't receive a firmware update. Just wondering..............

Hi Shcaerp, please see my edited post. Sorry I omitted the link for the Firmware update you mentioned - it's there now. I'm also re-replying to your original question to bump the thread.

Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it!!!

My App Store System Preference does not have the "Your computer is set to retrieve pre-release Software Updates". Should it in this situation? Does yours have that setting? I did in Yosemite pre-release updates but there was a configuration utility that I ran that added it!
