MacOS Sierra hang while resuming from Standby

When my MacBook Pro 15" (Mid-2015) resumes from sleep by timeout or by opening the lid I will get a black screen (I can see the background light on the borders, so its not 100% black) and I can only hear a beep if I press a key, there is no way (that I know) to fix it, the only solution is to force a shutdown via pressing the Power button for 5-10 sec, very annoying, happens multiple times a day, any tip on how to fix it or deal with it, will be appreciated, thanks

The problem is twofold. 1st is that it has turned down the monitor, and there is no way to get it back. 2nd, the only way to fix this is to do an SMC reset which will require you to disconnec the battery, hit the power button for 5 seconds, and then reconnect the battery. Instructions to do this are here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295 . It's also a good idea to reset the NVRAM and PRAM as well which will give everything a clean slate.

Thank you, I will try both

I'm on MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

I Reset the SMC,

NVRAM & PRAM to no avail.

Some say they don't see the issue with fresh install, others say it doesn't matter if it's a fresh install or not.

Looks like our holy grail will have to reside in an upcoming beta.

one of the users has reported a radar issue. You can try remote desktoping in and you'll at least see the screen. From there, you don't have to force-shutdown; logging out restores my screen, so I do that from screen-sharing into the mac.

Also duplicate issue; originally reported here: https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/51274. This thread contains a fix - remove third party apps such as Duet, Air Parrot, etc. This worked for me on my early 2015 MacBook.
