XCode connection to local git server via ssh and certificate broken

The XCode connection to my local git server for pushing does not work. I've added a remote origin to my project pointing to the local git server. Pulling from that server via xcode works. But pushing to this server results in a dialog popping up. this dialog says "The repository rejected the provided credentials" and asks me to select the connection method and the certificate file. When I select the certificate file and press ok then the same error cmes again.

Doing the git push via commandline works without a problem.

[Solution] The problem with my xcode was that it has a problem working with rsa keys. Therefor I had to create a new key via ssh_keygen as an id_25519 key. After added that to the authorized_keys on my local git server xcode now can use this key and do full pushing.

I had a similar experience, although I did not see the dialog you posted. In my case it was reported as an ssh failure. Like you, I could do a git push from the command line but Xcode was failing.

To get it working I edited ~/.ssh/known_hosts and deleted all entries to do with my git server.

I then manually logged into the git server (via ssh) and when prompted accepted the connection, adding the keys to known_hosts.

Following that Xcode "push" was working again.

I have no idea as to why the failure occurred but I am happy that it is working now.
