bug in the privacy section of app store connect?

We have removed app tracking transparency from our app and successfully released new version that does not access the device id. However, I am unable to remove that item from the App Privacy section in app store connect. These are the steps I am following:

  • Click on the App Privacy section of our app
  • Click on the Edit link in the Data Types section
  • Select 'Yes, we collect data from this app' and click Next
  • Scroll down to the Identifiers section and uncheck the Device Id check box
  • Click Publish

I see the followup popup:

_ Additional Setup Required

To update your app's product page with new data types, you need to finish setting them up on the following page. _

I click OK and the popup disappears but there is no "following page". Also, I am removing a data type, not adding a new one. Has anyone been through this process before? What am I missing?

Any updates about that?

Same issue with me. I am unable to remove data collection. After I select "No, we do not collect data from this app" and click Publish. It shows "Additional Setup Required". After clicking Continue on the following screen, I'm again presented the first screen where it asked me if we collect data or not. I again select "No, we do not collect data from this app" and the cycle repeats again.

Reached out to developer support. A senior advisor was looking into the issue and they asked to raise an appeal. I told them the system is buggy but I was still asked to raise an appeal so that the review team can fix this from the backend systems. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. Feeling so helpless out here :(

Hello, thank you for these reports. We believe we have resolved this issue. If you continue to experience issues updating the app privacy section of your app, please contact us.
