XCode 14.2 & ios 15.8 ->
What is the context ? When exactly does it happen ?
What have you triedso far ? Repairing the iPhone with Xcode ? Other things ?
If you want others to take time to help, please take time to explain.
That should work. Try to re-pair the iPhone with Xcode.
unfortunately, that didn't help.
Same here. MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) on macOS Monterey 12.7.1 (21G920) iPhone 7 on iOS 15.8
Tried removing the app from the phone, unpairing and pairing again, did not help.
Same here. I'm suspecting the issue to be the missing 15.8 folder under /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport
.
Unfortunately, could not find it anywhere else, including in more recent Xcode version (tried xCode 15.1-beta2, Xcode 15.0.1, and even xCode 14.3.1 from June this year)
Apple is a little bit ****** in supporting old version of Xcode and iOS. They usually release the support in a month or so. The best way is go back to the older version of iOS. Apple is still signing iOS 15.7.9 at the moment. You can download iOS 15.7.9 from https://ipsw.me/
For solution like that need update DeviceSupport file in /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport DeviceSupport file possible download from https://github.com/filsv/iOSDeviceSupport#readme but for 15.8 no file yet.
Thanks for suggestion, @kweonkang Note to all: If you have automatic backup to iCloud enabled, then pick backup earlier than 25 October (iOS 15.8 release date). Otherwise iPhone will re-upgrade to iOS 15.8 again.
use image 15.5. Rename the folder from 15.5 -> 15.8. From here: https://github.com/master131/iFakeLocation/issues/162#issuecomment-1793576376
Nothing working for iphone 7 plus with IOS 15.8.2, it was working fine with IOS 15.8.1.
I tried creating the filder from the github repo, restarting usbmuxd, restoring ios wit itunes, updating xcode. so many hours spend hoping to fix this problem, why does apple make it so difficult to downgrade??? any other phone I can set back to factory default.
its really frustrating working with apple products, nothing ever works proper, almost no support, everything is restricted. Way to go Apple!
Any solution/workaround for iOS 15.8.2??
I am having the opposite issue where "Preparing iPhone" is endless. I have also tried all solutions I can find. There must be some way to gain insight into where this process is stuck!?
