Xcode 14 minimum hardware requirements

I’m getting in to iOS dev for the first time and am about to buy a Mac mini M2 but the 8GB is much cheaper than the 16GB so I’m wondering if that’s enough to start with. I can’t find an official spec for Xcode 14 and other posts are out of date. Thanks

You can refer to this URL, there is the latest beta version of xcode https://developer.apple.com/download/all/?q=xcode

The best response I could find is that Apple don’t have minimum hardware requirements for Xcode, rather they have a minimum OS requirement which has its own minimum hardware requirements. In terms of performance, I’ll just take a chance with 8GB as I’m new to this. If after 6 months things are going well, I can always upgrade. Perhaps making a side-by-side video of 8GB vs 16GB would be helpful for others starting out or planning an upgrade.

I search for the answer to this question all the time. Here is the place to find the answer... https://developer.apple.com/support/xcode/

This page lists the minimum OS requirements. As Georgehaf noted, this can be used to map to hardware capable of running the OS.

The page also lists the minimum version of XCODE that can be used to submit to the Apple store.

8GB will be fine.
