Feedback Assistant links don't work

Hi there,

it looks like if you post a feedback id like FB1234567, a link will be crated automatically: (https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/feedback/1234567)

That's great, however it doesn't seem to work for ids with higher numbers as you can see with this example: FB12345678

New bug reports will get ids over 12,000,000 (8 digits)

Cheers

This is a known issue; see thread Bug in forum handling of feedback IDs.

I tested with this FB: https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/feedback/11568784

There are 8 digits, even though not over 12_000_000

What is your exact FB number that does not work ?

It’s really not. Such links are only useful to the poster:

  • They don’t help anyone else because you can only see bugs that you filed.

  • They don’t help Apple folks because… well… reasons.

IMO we should only render a feedback number as a link for the original poster (r. 92946014).

I generally post feedback numbers using code style, so FB1234567, to avoid this confusion.

Hmm. I've been asked for a feedback number multiple times by the Apple Developer Technical Support... I would expect them to also do some research in the forums if they encounter a bug...

That’s not quite the same thing. My comment above was specifically about feedback links. If we click one of those links that doesn’t land anywhere useful.

However, feedback numbers are absolutely critical. If you send me a feedback link (like https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/feedback/1234567) I have to copy the number out (1234567), prepend an FB (FB1234567), and then open that [1]. It’s just a bit of extra scut work [1] but well worth it to get access to your feedback report.
