hello apple guys, why do live photos lose their live-ness even when going thru proprietary iMessage? what is the best way transfer these live photos between users even for testing? i see the little icon indicating it is a live photo on the "sent" side of the message, but on the rec'vd side it shows as a regular photo.
if anyone has this issue, this seemed to be our problem: the iMessage switch in message settings has to be On for both devices when sending. if one device has iMsg off, live photos come thru as regular photos. if any one has any other ideas how to transfer live photos between users, that would be helpful.
Yes, if iMessage is not on for either side, the photo has to be sent through SMS, which is an ancient protocol that does not support Live Photo. Another way to share between users is AirDrop, which also sends the Live part of the photo.
