Capture GPU Frame failed when i use Capture GPU Frame in iOS 10.2 iPhone6 Plus using Xcode 8.2.1.


Logs:

Unexpected Replayer Termination

Replayer terminated unexpectedly with error code 5.
Please export the frame capture file then file a radar

Capture GPU Frame works well in another project.

Capture GPU Frame works well in iOS 10.1 iPhone6 Plus using Xcode 8.2.1, i change a device and everything become fine.

I'm getting the same error. It seems related to the iOS update. I'm testing on an iPhone6 iOS 10.2.1. However, I tried on an iPad Pro with iOS 10.2.1 and it works without problem...

Also seeing this issue... iPhone 6s iOS 10.3.1 and Xcode 8.3.2

Fixed the issue by reseting my iPhone to factory settings.

I started seeing this on my iPhone SE as soon as I updated to 10.3.2.


My iPad Air 1 still allows frame capture though with 10.3.2.


Using Xcode 8.3.2


Does anyone know how we "export the frame capture file", like the error message tells us to do?

Xcode 9.3 was just released; you should retry with the final version.

This did not fix things for me. I still get the error, and with any Metal app, even the template game code.

Bummer. At a minimum you should follow the advice given in the message and file a bug report about the problem. Please post your bug number, just for the record.

If you create a new simple project from scratch, do you see the issue there?

Ah, it started working after I restarted the phone. I had tried that before, but that was when I still had the Xcode beta, and my phone was 11.2 instead of 11.3.

Still has problem in xcode 10.0 (10A255) on iPhone 6s 11.4.1 .

Still actual

Xcode 10.1 (10B61)

iOS 12.1 (iPhone X)

Reboot mac and iphone not solves problem. Clean build not solves problem.

It happens everytime on "Profiling shaders" stage.

Also Xcode crashes when I try to open one of my shaders.

I had the same issue. What worked for me:


1. disconnect the iphone from the mac

2. restart the iphone

3. connect the iphone back

4. make build and deploy from xcode (at this point xcode asked me to authorize the device as Development device)


If Xcode doesn't ask you to authorize it, try adding it manually in Window > Devices and Simulators


I hope it helps.

Just to post an update since I bumped into this from google, with Xcode 12.4 and iOS 14.4 this issue is still going strong. In my case I got around it by a combination of restarts and reconnects PLUS I needed to connect my iOS device via cable instead of WiFi.
