Need help changing the correct/accepted answer on a forum thread

In this thread https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/705281 (which I am the original poster), I have marked my own post as the accepted answer. I did that before I got input from Quinn on how to achieve what I was after. I have posted that information in a subsequent post in that thread here https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/705281?answerId=712746022#712746022. Can someone please mark this as the correct answer? I tried but I don't see any option to do it myself.

P.S: In some forum threads, I see that things like these are sorted through direct messages sometimes. But I can't see any place in my profile where I can send a direct message from. Does that feature require some level of forum points?

Once you've marked an answer as correct, there is no way to change it. So you have to take care (however, that is a minor offense !).

You can either:

  • mark a comment below the erroneously marked answer
  • ask the moderator.

I’m not able to change the accepted answer for a thread. I’m not sure what the process is for that. I’ll ask the DevForums folks about it.

Having said that, I can mark a post as Apple Recommended, which is what I’ve done for your thread.

DevForums has no direct message support )-: I know it’s on the to-do list but I don’t have the bug number handy.

at my third post I accidentally closed the thread like this :-(

Thank you Quinn. That's good enough. I just checked that thread and the Apple Recommended answer appears before the accepted answer, so that's a good thing. Thank you for your help.

Yeah, there really is no good way to do this, even at higher admin levels than me )-:
