Homebrew and Xcode

Hello,

I am a total newbie. I wanted to install a programm called httrack and got the info that i have to download and install homebrew and xcode.

So I did so. Unfortunately I realized that i could mess up my computer big time and so i tried to uninstall both things again. Whereas it seems that homebrew was uninstalled well. I dont really understand how to uninstall xcode properly. This is what mdfind still shows me after uninstalling xcode (see attached)

I am very scared as i just bought a brand new macbook and i am scared i did something to it that will damage it, can you please help me???

Fear not.

Homebrew will uninstall cleanly, as you have found.

Xcode is supplied by Apple... I think we can assume that Apple are a trusted source?

You can uninstall Xcode by dragging it's icon (from Applications) to the Trash.

If you have used Xcode (before uninstalling it), then it may have created some folders, elsewhere on your drive...
...but unless you are pretty obsessive about these things, they can be safely ignored.

Alternatively, a quick web search should uncover a full list of any extra Xcode files and folders, that you can safely delete, if you want to.

Hi robnotyou! Okay thank you that calms me down a lot! I just read in many forums that the installation somewhat messed up the computers, because there were files stored in these folders. But I guess that just happens when you use the programs and as i havent and will not use either of them any more i reckon all is fine!

thanks for your help!
