I had installed Xcode on my Macbook Pro M1. The download is complete, by it's stuck in "Installing" for over a week now. I am unable to stop the install and try again either. I'd be grateful for a solution here.

Same here. This is the first apple product i own in my life and it feels like it's thrown me back to the 1990s. Installs that take hours, uninstalls that take minutes, no progress indicators, no information about why the install fails, inexplicable infinite loops that cannot be broken, .... what is this??
