How to find forum post with old link?

I have developer documentation that contains links that are now dead. How can I find the post that this link used to refer to?

https://forums.developer.apple.com/message/281700

I tried simply using the ID in the new URL format, but that didn't work. Eg:

https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/281700

All old threads have been kept, but renumbered…

For instance, this old ref:

https://forums.developer.apple.com/message/390994?et=watches.email.thread#390994

is found at:

https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/109156?answerId=390994022#390994022

or

https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/109156

Can't you find some sentence or keywords in the thread and search for it, on the forum or on Google ? You could also search for the author and browse the complete list of posts.

A while back DevForums migrated to a new platform. That did not lose any content. See this post for details. Moreover, in most cases old URLs continue to work, redirecting to the new location. There is, however, one case that’s still broken, namely URLs that point to the first post in a thread (as opposed to the thread itself) (r. 64589574). There’s no sign of that being fixed, alas )-:
