Safari is better than it used to be for development work but there are still a couple of major things that need fixed. I'm going to narrow it down to the 2 biggest issues I experience as a developer who REALLY doesn't want to switch to Chrome.
- Network throttling
We need to have the ability to throttle the network in Safari so that we can see how users with slower internet will experience our website/web apps.
- TLD ".test" domains
Right now when you enter a .test domain in the address bar it goes to a google search instead of the address. The only way to have it actually go to the address is to add https:// in front of the .test domain. You might say this isn't a big deal, but then when you are on your .test domain and add anything to the URL, it goes to a Google search again. This is infuriating.
If these 2 issues were fixed I believe Safari would make a huge leap in developer experience.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
