Outlook search not works in Monterey

I have a new MBP M1, with fresh Monterey. I moved my data with the assistant from the old MBP, I have all the letters in Outlook (v15.46), but search in Outlook not works, it gives a "No results found" message in all folders. Old methods for reindex Spotlight is not working (eg. add and remove Main Profile to Spotlight). How can I solve this problem? Thanks

I'm on 12.1 Monterey and Outlook V 16.56 (Home and Business) as well and search is completely ruined, it's peak period for me during the year end and all of a sudden I'm unable to dig up my emails that are crucial for work.

Spotlight is somewhat able to find them which means it is being indexed somewhere, just not sure why it doesn't show up on Outlook

Same issue here. Even all the index repairing tipps in the net, don't solve the problem. Using Outlook with in Exchange Server.

Same issue on my new MacBook Pro 14'' an Monterey 12.1. On my old MacBook and BigSur everything still works fine with the same Outlook Version. So I believe it must be an apple problem. Regarding to that I will use my old MacBook until the problem will be solved ;-(

For me, it's really strange that when I do the spotlight privacy trick, it works for a few seconds before going back to "no results" for new queries. It's driving me crazy..

MacBook Pro 14" with M1 Pro, Monterey 12.1 and Outlook 16.54, same problem here. Already tried all the above workarounds, none worked. It all started with 12.0.1 upgrade, as far as I remember. It even affects Intel machines, got a MacBook Air 2020 upgraded to Monterey 12.1, of course the upgrade broke Outlook search (16.56) even on that one. Luckily I got a 13" MacBook Pro M1 still on Big Sur that works perfectly, but I feel a bit angry for buying such a machine and not being able to getting things done. I'm really starting to think about downgrading to Big Sur.

The below steps worked for me even my OS is Monterey.

It seems there is a bug that outlook profile corrupt after updating Monterey to 12.1

If you are using macOS Catalina, try to fix the issue by deleting the Outlook profile and adding it again as follows:

From Finder, open the Applications folder. Ctrl+click or right-click Microsoft Outlook, and then select Show Package Contents. Open Contents > SharedSupport, and then launch Outlook Profile Manager. Select the profile that you want to remove, and then choose the Delete the selected profile button. Restart Outlook and add the profile again.

I guess I will have to wait for a fix from Microslut. Ever since using outlook Mac I have had this problem on and off. Why I bother to pay for another app that does the same thing as is included with Apple OS I don't know. I guess the joke is on me!!!!!!

Using iMac Pro. Did not migrate .. merely updated the operating system. Now running Monterey 12.1. Tried all of the various suggestions. Outlook search does not work.

Same issue as everyone else. MacBook Air 13" M1, macOS 12.1, Outlook 16.55, and now 16.56. Have actually seen a search starting to populate as re-indexing (high MDS task seen in Activity Monitor), but then Search stops altogether.

As stated in another thread by a user: The curious thing was that after I followed all steps above and when it was actively reindexing, I searched in outlook and it was pulling results!!! HOWEVER, as soon as it finished indexing the search immediately stopped working again."

Same problem here. Monterey 12.1, newest Outlook 16.56. Search doesn't work, nothing helps (tried every single tip). Insane that such issues still happen in 2021. Worlds fines business email client and most expensive laptop...

Same issue also. Tried all repair recommendations and event did a complete reinstallation with the same result.

  1. Boot in recovery
  2. Delete partition
  3. Recreate partition
  4. Install Monterey 12.1,
  5. Install Office 365 16.56
  6. Configure accounts
  7. Search in Outlook still giving no results even though during indexing I was getting some results. But no results when indexing is completed

Spotlight search is working and I can search my mails through it although not practical at all

Same issue here. Tried deleting and reinstalling outlook, tried sudo - rebuilding entire index directory in Terminal, tried adding/removing Mac HD in Spotlight privacy settings, tried adding/removing email accounts in Outlook. The issue appears to be related directly with Spotlight, not Outlook. Go figure, Apple can't seem to release an OS update that doesn't have a major issue. It's almost as if they don't even Beta test before release. Can't remember the last time I've installed a successful OSX update that didn't have major issues. Must have been when Steve was still around.

Same exact issue here. Tried rebuilding index directory completely, via Terminal. Tried to activate Spotlight function on/off via Terminal. Tried to delete/add email accounts in Outlook. Tried wiping Microsoft office completely and reinstalling. Tried add/remove Mac HD to privacy list in Spotlight preferences. Nothing works. Apple's OS updates are literally abysmal. They are disastrous every single time, and they can't seem to learn. Ever since Steve Jobs went, OS quality has steadily declined. The Big Sur update literally fried my Fusion drive and they had to replace it. I honestly can't understand how simple tasks like this fly under the radar during Beta testing. Either that, or they simply ignore these issues.

Apart from Spotlight completely breaking, there are a number of Midi/driver issues as well. Shaking my damn head Apple get it together.

Apple product quality is getting worst and worst and for a $4K machine, not really acceptable

I have to resort to doing the search on Outlook on windows and put drag-drop search into a Onedrive folder (get msg file) then but the MSG reader on OSX and I can see results from there

I tend to drag and drop search results into a folder anyway

But shame on MS too, it force me to go to o365 front end and I'm using onprem exchange, will have to consider moving to hybrid to solve this issue

Same issue here on my Intel 13" MBP. I simply upgraded, and even with 12.1 I'm seeing the same issue. I can find emails by subject that existed prior to the upgrade but not after. I tried the same Spotlight workaround from past OS versions. Oddly enough if I search using the subject for emails that I received post 12.1 upgrade in FINDER I can find them, but not in Outlook search.
