console fills up with "[default] invalid display identifier Main"

Since I installed the beta version of macOS Monterey, I get flooded with entries in the console which all say the same line:

[default] invalid display identifier Main

I have no idea why and what to look for. Any suggestions?

  • I am getting the same, new SwiftUI project and the old one, both are getting a lot of debug logs invalid display identifier Main

The issue is currently being investigated. If you have any other feedback / error please send a feedback through feedback assistant (https://feedbackassistant.apple.com).

Any news on that? This happened to me as well after the last Monterey update.

I'm getting the same problem under Monterey 12.5 when using opengl - I have a benq pd3200u monitor and a AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16 GB graphics card.

Runs fine for 5-6 minutes then the screen starts to turn on and off and I get errors like

  • I've just started getting this on Ventura 13.3, Version 14.3 (14E222b).

I'm thinking it's related to MacOS turning display off after 10 mins of inactivity. These messages only appear when I go make myself a coffee! 😄
