Safari Web Inspector tabs are missing

Hi,
I just found that many tabs in my Safari Web Inspector are no longer there.

For example, previously, I have the following tabs in Web Inspector:
  • Inspector:

  • Elements;

  • Network;

  • Sources;

  • Timelines;

  • Storage;

  • Graphics;

  • Layers;

  • Audit;

  • Console;

But now, I only have:
  • Console;

  • Sources;

  • Audit;

Does anyone know the root cause, and how I can restore the missing tabs? Thanks much.

My OS: macOS Catalina, 10.15.7
Xcode: 12.4
Safari: 14.1.1

I ended up upgrading my OS to Big Sur 11.3.1 from Catalina. Then the Safari web inspector tabs come back.

Working combination:

  • OS: Big Sur 11.3.1
  • Safari: 14.1.1 (15611.2.7.1.6)
  • Xcode: 12.4 (12D4e)
Same here. The whole web inspector is completely broken since Big Sur 11.4. Even the tabs that are visible just won't work. At least if I try to debug a web view on my iPhone remotely. Apple, please fix this ASAP! It's unusable.

I tried with the Tech preview, but same issue. Have an iPhone not on iOS 14.6 so we can see which side is broken?
inspect.dev works. So more likely something else.
Same here. On Big Sur 11.5 Beta and iOS 14.5.5 / 14.4.
This is also impacting the Web Inspector if you are debugging a WKWebView in a simulator on a device. It effectively makes WKWebView un-debuggable at this point.

macOS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H1217)
Safari 14.1.1 (15611.2.7.1.6, 15611)
Xcode 12.4 (12D4e)

Thank you to everyone reporting this problem. It is now fixed in Safari Technology Preview 125, which you can download at developer.apple.com/safari/download

My OS: macOS Big Sur, 10.15.7 Xcode: 12.5 Safari: 14.1.1(16611.2.7.1.4)

And I download at developer.apple.com/safari/download Safari Technology Preview 125,but same issue.

Same here. On My OS: macOS Big Sur, 10.15.7 Xcode: 12.5 Safari: 14.1.1(16611.2.7.1.4) And I download at developer.apple.com/safari/download Safari Technology Preview 125,but same issue.

You can customize which tabs appear in the menu. TO do so, right click next to an element and you can enable/disable any tabs.

Same... after last update of big sur

Safari: Version 14.1.1 OS: Big Sur 11.4 Xcode: Version 12.5 (961.1)

Same here... after the last OS update of Big Sur

Mac OS: 11.4 (20F71)

Mac Safari: 14.1.1 (16611.2.7.1.4)

iOS: 14.6

Xcode: 12.5 (12E262)

Same here.

Mac OS: 11.4 (20F71)

Mac Safari: 14.1.1 (16611.2.7.1.4)

iOS: 14.6

Xcode: 12.5 (12E262)

Same here... Everything is updated to the latest version and it still does not work.

The same issue here on XCode 12.5 and iOS Simulators, BigSur 11.4.

Ditto Big Sur 11.4... also, since we're on big Sur, we can't use the Safari Technology Preview since that download only works for 12.*.

My time & client money burning every second this is not resolved.

This is an issue for me too. I have fully updated BigSur and iOS and still not working.

Same issue here, can only see Console, Sources, and Audit tabs.

My setup:

OS: Big Sur 11.4 Safari: 14.1.1 (16611.2.7.1.4) XCode: 12.5 (12E262)

Same issue and setup here - macOS 11.4, iOS 14.6, Xcode 12.5, Safari 14.1.1.

Unable to use the workaround via Safari Technology Preview as the install of STP 125 or 126 gives version errors on each one. (125: "This update requires macOS version 10.15.", 126: "This update requires macOS version 12").

Had to result to using a Mac running Catalina and STP.

Works with Safari Technology Preview 126.

Same here, Mojave + Safari 14.1.2 (downloaded from the link above), still only 3 tabs. Safari is severely lagging behind other browsers in features, has lots of rendering issues and now we cannot even use devtools to solve all these problems, what the heck, Apple?

Anyone knows a way to roll back to a working versio of Safari? I have not desire to upgrade OS 'till new MBPs are out.

Found some manuals here, gotta try tomorrow: https://mrmacintosh.com/how-to-downgrade-safari-14-to-13-supported-unsupported-options/

Safari is turning into IE13, congrats Apple. Sunken at the deep end of the baby pool.

Big Sur, Xcode 12.4 and Safari 14.1.1 did not work.

Installing Tech Preview 126 for Big Sur does work.

Previous Safari versions: https://filecombo.com/macos/product/safari-for-mac/b6f15490a53447849d07e7cf850c0cf9/download

Like many others, I'm using the latest...

  • OS: Big Sur 11.4
  • Safari: 14.1.1 (16611.2.7.1.4)
  • iPhone: iOS 14.6
  • iPad: iPadOS 14.6

and having the same problem: only Console, Source, and Audit, and there's nothing in them – all blank!

I'm just a simple developer trying to make my way in the world, targeting CSS for a client's website.
