"Run specific test" shortcut in Xcode is greyed out

I cannot execute the 'run specific test' shortcut in Xcode. I can run specific tests from the gutter or the test tab, but not with a keyboard shortcut. I can't seem to find any reason why this would be true, has anyone else had this problem and if anyone has can you please tell me if I can and how to fix it?

This seems to be a regression in Xcode 12.5; it works fine for me on Xcode 12.4, and is grayed out in 12.5. Running a unit test on an iPhone simulator in my case.
