Xcode tabs?

Why are there two sets of tab bars in Xcode now? It is very confusing. Is there a way I can get rid of the inner one so it works like before?

Do you mean

  • a top bar with just the name of present file with < > arrows and some editor options on the right

  • a lower bar with the full hierarchy

I think they wanted to be able to show the folder hierarchy up to the root and hence needed some space (it was OK on 27" but limited on 15").

I've not found any preference to change this.
