Data science (R and SPSS 26) under Rosetta 2 / Apple silicon M1?

Hi everyone, did any of you try out R or SPSS under a new M1 Macbook, do either of these work fine under Rosetta 2, as I suppose none has a native ARM version yet.

In addition, did anyone try CorelDraw as well?

I am asking these question, because I think a lot of us working in data science have second thoughts about moving to ARM, at least for the next year or so....
I recently installed SPSS 27 on my new MacBook Pro with the M1 chip. It is working fine and I have had no complications so far. I will be installing R and R studio this weekend and testing it out as well.
Hi! I’m also interested in using RStudio on Mac M1. Please let us know about your experience if you’ve already installed it. Thanks!
RStudio and R both run, they are working under Rosetta2, but no issues with big models including some using H2O.ai.
Good luck!

Hi,

R and Data Science on M1 under Rosetta is faster than R running on my 16" MBP. But I suppose it will depend on what you do. I have not tested it under circumstances that will require very high amounts of RAM. If you have any tests or scripts you want to try out, I can gladly do it, just send me a message.
