Indeed. You can file an enhancement request for this but it’s not strictly speaking necessary. Better search support is already a much-requested feature.It’d be great if we could sort by date when searching the forums.
When you select "Newest", it just gives you all the forum posts, starting with the most recent.
I’m a bit confused, so can you walk me through what you did here? Because I tried this and it seems to work reasonably well for me. Specifically:
I entered waffle into the search box and pressed Return.
I got back a list of search results. The popup was set to Relevance, so the first result was from 6 years ago.
I switched the popup to Newest. The search results changed to show a post from a month ago, but that post definitely contained the word waffle.
Seems to me that selecting something on that dropdown menu should set the sort order for all subsequent searches, no?
Is that a different problem? Or part of the previous problem.
