Instruments stuck "Analyzing, Transferring data"

Anyone else have an issue where Instruments gets stuck "Analyzing, Transferring data" when ending a capture when "Options for: Metal Applications" -> "Performance Limiters" is enabled?

After Instruments gets into this state, it ignores Quit, and must be Force Quit.

Instruments Version 11.5 (11E608c)
MacOS 10.15.5 (19F101)
tvOS 13.4.6 (17L570)

Hi bswift,

Can you please try to capture sample of Instruments process in this state?
Also, what device are you targeting?

I actually checked with my colleagues and this is a known issue in case where device doesn't support the performance limiters.
This should've been already fixed in Instruments 12 Beta (it'll show appropriate warning).

Please let me know if this solves your problem,

Thanks for the response. The device is a AppleTV 4K (Model A1842).
For anyone else coming across this, the performance limiters are supported on A11 and newer CPUs according to https://developer.apple.com/documentation/metal/optimizing_performance_with_the_gpu_counters_instrument
