iOS 14 Developer Preview 1 - Wireless Charging Problem

Is anyone else experiencing issues with wireless charging with the iOS 14 DP1? Since installing it, wireless charging doesn't work. The battery charge indicator turns green, but the iPhone itself isn't charging. I find I have to turn off the iPhone for it to begin charging. When I turn it off, the even stranger thing is the iPhone doesn't turn back on when getting the charge. It is charging, however, because when I push the power button to turn it on, the battery capacity has increased.

Occuring on an iPhone II Pro Max.
Yes!!! I have 2 Anker wireless chargers. One works fine while the other doesn’t charge my phone. Have been waking up some mornings and my phone is about dead as it didn’t charge. Even though it says/indicates it’s charging. Hope they fix this soon!
I have same Problem with multiple wireless chargers. So i rebooted my phone, then its started charging now :)

Iphone 11 with iOS 14.0.1
Hello, i SOLVED the problem on my iPhone 8, y erase the phone content and configuration, restore and wireless charging work fine on my car’s charger and home too, i hope it help you, best regards
Hey guys, have an update: please hard reset your iphone, that worked for me.
With hard reset i mean a foced shutdown. Not resetting in preferences.

For iPhone 11 that's:
  1. Short press louder button

  2. Short press quiter button

  3. Hold power button until you see the apple icon

Only fix that has temporarily worked for me is to close all apps before putting on the wireless charger. If any apps are open it doesnt work.
YES!!! So frustrating!

I had the problem on my 10. Bout the 11 and still have the problem!!!!

called Apple support and the call was disconnected twice. WTF APPLE?!

Tried the force reset. Using 14.01. Still have the issue. Set it on charging pad and for 2 seconds it gives the false impression it is charging. I go to bed and BAM! 18% charge.

WTF APPLE! Really?
I upgraded to I os 14.0.1 last night and now my wireless charger is having issues as well. Has anyone found a fix? Hard shut down and reboot has not worked for me.
Experiencing same issue as post and many of replies here. Updated my iPhone 11 Pro to iOS 14.0.1 a few days ago and no longer works with my Belkin BoostUp 10W wireless charging pad.

Have tried:
  • removing case

  • closing all apps before placing it on

  • powering phone off

  • hard reset (volume up, volume down, hold power button until Apple logo)

None have worked. Going to contact Apple Support and will update.

At the very least, I’m hoping it’s fixed in next iOS patch.
Experiencing the exact same thing. Since I use the public version of iOS14 on my iPhone XR, the phone won‘t charge anymore on my IKEA wireless chargers. It starts charging and looses the connection after about 5 secs. After another 3 secs the phone starts to charge again. This goes on and on. In my opinion, this is pure poison for the battery. Quick fix is absolutely necessary. Now, in order to charge my phone, I have to turn it off several times until it continuously charges. This is very annoying and not acceptable in a public version (not beta) in 2020. Btw if the dev team is looking for software developers, I would be always available.
I have the same issue. Since updating to the iOS 14, the wireless charging slowed down dramatically. It charges only few percentages during the night. Hopefully, it will get resolved with the first bug fixes. I was surprised to find that this issue has been around for few months.
Same here. iPhone XR.
With 14.0.1 the wireless connection was dropped after every 5 seconds.
With 14.1 it seems ok.
Same problem, even after resetting. Same charger, it won’t charge at all. No change of icons, no lights on charger.

this is on a iOS 14.1 for iPhone 8
Same issue with 14.1. iPhone 11. Have tried the hard reset suggested below and it is now indicating it is charging
Same issue here
Can not use wireless charger in Hyundai Tucson 2019
iphone11
Same issue with 14.2 iPhone XMax Have tried the hard reset suggested didnt help. Had same issue on 14.1 even worse it drained battery a lot. At least that is fixed but still pls fix the wireless charging bug.
