FYI,
I purchased that exact accessory at my local Apple Store and was able to connect the Apple TV to Xcode via an additional USB-A male to USB-A male cable just fine. Hope that helps.
I confirm, it works. I connected to Apple TV with Apple USB-C to USB Adaptor (MJ1M2ZM/A model A1632) and a USB-A to USB-A cable (mine is USB-3.0-Cable (A-A) from hama)
