Is two factor authentication mandatory for creating certificate in developer account

Hi ,


I have created a free Apple Developer Account , But I cant see the developer options like certificate , signing etc.

I Learned that to get these options visible on my menu , I have to enroll to developer program ,but again in the process of enrollment it asks for two factor authentication . Is that a mandatory step, As I dont have iphone device , Can you please help me achieve this.

You'll need to obtain a device, connect it to Xcode on a mac, and let it be registered on the backend. At that point, you can foregoe the 3rd party hoop jumping and just go native IDE w/Xcode. You'll need a mac and a paid Developer Program account.
