Sardinian language option for iOS missing?

HI all,

i just wanted to add a Sardinian translation to the Delta Chat iOS app (https://delta.chat) - howver, i did not found the language in the list at "Project/Info/Localisations/+" (the list is close to being unusable, btw, horrifying ui 🙂

the iso code for Sardinian is "sc".

i added several other languages in the last week, so, in general, i know how it works.

may it be that Sardinian is missing? or added under another name? or have i overseen it?

I found this:

In fact, the only localized lan- guage version for Sardinian is MacOS. There is no officially available localized language version of Windows, Android, or iOS.

and this, for list of suppoted iOS languages

www.ibabbleon.com/iOS-Language-Codes-ISO-639.html

If that may help.

thank you very much - so Xcode only offers languages that are also supported by the iOS system.

https://www.ibabbleon.com/iOS-Language-Codes-ISO-639.html says

"Technically, your iOS apps can be localized into ANY language, even those not translated by Apple, though users are less likely to select such languages."

but i have no idea how to do this in practise. also, how the user can select the language that is not supported by the system - not sure if the default way will work for that https://support.delta.chat/t/select-non-system-language-on-ios/794

maybe some native speaker using phones in Sardinian have a stance on that.

@Apple maybe you can just add Sardinian language - there are more than 1 million speakers or so, really wondering why this is missing.

I understand like this:

you can add the language as a localization language in XCode (I did not check precisely).

- is it directly by selecting the language ?

- or by manually adding the needed folders ?

What is the code for sardinian (equivalent to "en-US" or "fr-FR") ?
