Discontinue an auto-renewable subscription?

We have an auto-renewable subscription in our app that we want to stop offering. However, we want to make sure that people who have already purchased the subscription remain subscribed until the end of their current subscription period (and are subsequently unsubscribed and not charged further). What is the right way to do this?

We tried submitting the app with the subscription still enabled in App Store Connect but hidden in the app, and our update was rejected because the reviewer couldn't find a way to subscribe.

Thanks,

Frank

Can't you simply disable that product (take it off sale vs. nuking it from orbit) for new users via ASC?

Go to App Store Connect. My Apps. Select your app. Select "Features" and "In-App Purchases". Select the particular IAP you wish to stop. Uncheck the box marked "Cleared for Sale". Click "Remove from Sale"The following will appear:

-----------------

Are you sure you want to deselect Cleared for Sale?

Your in-app purchase will be removed from sale on the App Store and discontinued as an auto-renewable subscription. Existing subscribers won’t be able to renew this subscription. To view the number of existing subscribers, go to Sales and Trends.

By selecting this checkbox and clicking Remove from Sale, you agree to provide the full amount of content to eligible subscribers through November 30, 2019. If you’re unable to do this, you allow Apple to refund the full amount or portion of the price paid by the user for that subscription.

Does deselecting cause all existing subscriptions to cancel? We are planning to remove in-app subscriptions to prevent new subscriptions, but don't want to lose all subscribers right away.
