how can you get xcode on a Mac with 10.12.6

Hello,

Looking for assistance with getting xcode up and running on a Mac with 10.12.6. I hope that someone can assist me with this, as I have been having issues with downloading xcode from the App Store.

Xcode 9.2 should be the last version compatible with 10.12.6.

If the Mac App Store doesn't install that version, you could get and install it manually from here:

https://developer.apple.com/download/more/ (Apple ID required).
