Hi Everyone, I would appreciate your help with the topic mentioned above. I'm seeking a solution for the issue I linked below.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255668660?sortBy=best
Apple Support said I could get a faster response. I've also submitted the issue to Apple Support, and they said it's currently with an Apple Engineer, but things are moving a bit slowly there. I'm writing the similar explanation I wrote on the discussion forum here as well. It's been months, and I hope we can get a result here:
**Here is the problem: **
I've noticed that the "CursorUIViewService" process in Activity Monitor is becoming 'not responding' and causing significant lag on my MacBook Air (M3), especially when typing and switching between upper and lower case letters. It appears this process also controls the blue caps-lock indicator, which stops working when the process is unresponsive. This issue seems to cause the lag, and currently, it is using about 170MB of RAM.
Additionally, the "com.apple.hiservices-xpcservice" process also becomes unresponsive , though it usually doesn't exceed 3.5MB of RAM. Actually, this process becomes 'not responding' much more frequently compared to the CursorUIViewService process. The possibility that it might be related to CursorUIViewService pushed me to research this issue as well. I can see that there have been complaints about this process for years, but it seems no solution is being produced.
By the way, I've tried everything. I did a clean install, ran diagnostics, performed first aid, and still encountered the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution?
As an update, I would like to inform you that the "com.apple.hiservices-xpcservice" process is still experiencing not responding issues with macOS Sequoia (15.0). However, because "cursoruiviewservice" was causing problems less often on Sonoma, I can't say the issue is completely resolved just yet; I need to monitor the situation.
Thank you!

Hello.
I don't even know where to start. We have a React Native application with some native modules that have never been an issue. The app was working under Sonoma Xcode16, yesterday I autoupdated my MacOS to Squoia, and the application won't build using the newest Xcode16 and Xcode command line tools.
The builds system crashes in the middle of building the app and throws a really vague description:
unexpected service error: The Xcode build system has crashed. Build again to continue.
I Post the report summary (without the kernel triage), since I can't find what's wrong after updating most of my libraries...

Hello all,
Recently I observed a strange behaviour on macOS.
Some apps with UI, after you quit them (right click on the Dock, select Quit or select Quit from the menubar), the apps are not actually quitting immediately, but in a few seconds (including in Activity Monitor the apps are staying alive). Also, if you open the apps again fast, the same PID is kept.
Not all apps do this, some of them, for example WhatsApp.
I'm not referring to closing all windows, but explicitly quitting.
This was not the case in the past. Is there any reason for this? Is some kind of optimisation I'm not aware of?
The actual issue is that in a Swift developed app events like NSWorkspace.didLaunchApplicationNotification
or NSWorkspace.didTerminateApplicationNotification are not triggered.
Is there any way to tell if an app was closed, even if macOS still keeps it around for a few more seconds?
Thank you.
Hi, just got upgraded this morning and now I can't use my local Tomcat install as server for my apps.
I can access it in safari using localhost, but not using my computers IP.
I start it from terminal.
I looked everywhere in settings, and searched online of course, but have been unable to find an answer.
Anyone knows how I can fit it? Input appreciated.

I read that we had an approach to cause a kernel panic, but I'm really concerned about the state that this would put my device in. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

I checked the value of vnode's v_iocount when vnop_remove and vnop_reclaim are being called.
Each vnop_remove and followed by vnop_reclaim with v_iocount set to 1 in both calls, as expected.
What I don't understand is why after removing the file is there another lookup call being made, which returns ENOENT to rm(1), which causes it to abort.
Any pointers on what could be amiss there would be much appreciated.
I'm working on a macOS and iOS app using SwiftUI. And received bug from very few user that they are being logged out, even tho they didn't.
So i'm assuming issue is relevant to this forum post, and that the keychain data and user defaults aren't available very early on in an app's lifecycle (presumably from cold start).
There is fix available for iOS but didn't find anything relevant to isProtectedDataAvailable for macOS.
I'm accessing UserDefaults in my @main view's sub view. It seems that UserDefaults is accessed too early, before applicationDidFinishLaunching.
And therefore, not getting user data on launch sometimes.
This issue is very rare, i'm not able to reproduce this, but assuming this can be cause based on some form post, also because view's onAppear calls before applicationDidFinishLaunching.
Hi,
im trying to make a Platform single sign-on app for my Idp, and I have tried online to try and find some code/ a demo app for this I cannot find anything for the Mac OS Side, there is someone who's created the server, but no info for that on what the Mac extension should do.
I have tired implementing the 2 function to required, but to no luck. After reading what I think is all of the document I'm still really confused as to how this is all supposed to work.
I have got to the stage where it create the popup that says you need to authenticated with your idp but cannot work out the bugs for the rest of it.
manly im getting an issue in the console that says no login config for (username) and im not sure what im doing wrong.
Hello.
In my app, I use RegisterEventHotkey to implement global keyboard shortcuts to trigger actions.
Up until macOS Sequoia, I was able to use a keyboard shortcut with option and shift as the modifiers, like option shift 2 (⌥ ⇧ 2).
Now, on macOS Sequoia, using RegisterEventHotkey to register a hotkey with those exact modifiers (option and shift), regardless of the key, fails with the error -9868 (eventInternalErr).
Is this a documented and wanted change, or is this a bug? Other modifier keys (just command, command option, command shift, command control, control shift, etc), all work.
Any insight into this would be appreciated. (Feedback filed: FB15163561)
Thank you,
Matthias
The download of the update worked fine. But when I try to install, it throws the error
software update
My app, which has been on the Mac App Store for many years, has an update being blocked by App review. The only change made is a bug fix (documented in the release notes).
First rejection:
Said I was using an entitlement I didn't need.
My response: I explained the feature that required the entitlement.
App goes back in review and gets rejected again for completely different reasons. They don't want me to write files in my App Sandbox container and instead write them in a more traditional user facing location (like in the Documents folder). They keep sending me a link to the "App Sandbox Design Guide" in the Documentation Archive (which appears to redirect to a different page?) and are quoting a section that is nowhere to be found in the link they send me (on the page I'm redirected to). I keep explaining to them that I cannot write outside my sandbox container and that this isn't my choice.
And they keep rejecting my app and sending me a broken link to the "App Sandbox design guide." It isn't my fault that I have to write to my sandboxed container by default or have a non-functioning app.
In any case, I don't understand why a bug fix update is being held up and I'm getting some vague instructions about possibly having to design some long winded explanation to the user in some ridiculously complicated onboarding process about choosing a folder in a save panel, why you have to choose the folder in the save panel (because I need your permission), OR just quit the app you just bought because it'll otherwise do nothing if you don't choose a folder in the save panel. Users got enough panels to deal with. At the very least App review shouldn't send me broken links from the Documentation Archive.
So I'm using my sandbox container by default (because by default I cannot do anything else). I've been doing this for a long time and I don't understand why it is suddenly a problem. What is my sandboxed container for if I can't write to it?
If documentation such as the "App Sandbox Design Guide" is still relevant and important why is it being archived anyway ? The link redirects I cannot find the section the reviewer is citing in the provided link.
I don't mind being asked to do something to improve the app but I've wasted a lot of time trying to satisfy app review in the past only to misinterpret what they actually are asking me to do causing more wasted time and energy and not getting a whole lot in return.
And I don't think it's fair to block a bug fix update.
After the macOS Sequoia update, my app seems to have an issue with Bluetooth communication between macOS and iOS that uses CoreBluetooth for Central-Peripheral communication.
Setup:
The iPhone (in my case: iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 18.0 (22A3354)) acts as the Central, and the Mac (in my case: 14" MacBook Pro 2023 with macOS 15.0 (24A335)) as the Peripheral.
I’ve implemented a mechanism where the Central (iPhone) sends a message to the Peripheral (Mac) every 15 seconds to keep the connection alive (Because it needs to wait for notify characteristic updates).
I never noticed this kind of issue before, but with macOS Sequoia I get it permanently.
Issue:
The connection drops unexpectedly after a period of time (sometimes 20 seconds, sometimes a few minutes) with CBErrorDomain - code 6: The connection has timed out unexpectedly.
Sample Code:
Peripheral (Mac):
ContentView (Peripheral).txt
ContentViewModel (Peripheral).txt
Central (iPhone):
ContentView (Central).txt
ContentViewModel (Central).txt
Reproduce:
I attached sample code including the Central-Sample (for iPhone) and Peripheral-Sample (for Mac).
Just run the Peripheral-Sample (after granting Bluetooth permissions).
Then run the Central-Sample and select the Mac device in the list
After selecting it should connect, discover the service & characteristic and should start writing messages to it.
After some time the func centralManager(_ central: CBCentralManager, didDisconnectPeripheral peripheral: CBPeripheral, error: (any Error)?) {should get called with timed out unexpectedly error.
Could anyone please look into this issue and advise on whether there’s a known bug or any workaround? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, as this impacts the stability of Bluetooth communication between the devices.
Thanks in advance.
Logs:
I also ran the console.app during this issue which got these errors (if this is helpful):

Hi everyone,
I've recently upgraded macOS to sequoia and Xcode 16 and am encountering an issue with the build system crashing. The error message I receive is:
Unexpected service error: The Xcode build system has crashed. Build again to continue.
I've already tried cleaning the build folder, resetting the Xcode preferences, and restarting Xcode, but the issue persists. My app previously built fine with Xcode 15, and nothing significant has changed in my project except for the Xcode upgrade.

I have a text-to-speech app that generates speech using non-Apple technology. My users are requesting to use it for phone and FaceTime calls. Is there any way I can play generated audio through a phone or FaceTime call?
I have a text to speech assisted-audio-communication (AAC) app that uses both Apple and non-Apple technologies for voice synthesis. Apple's marketing page for "Live Speech" says that, when "Live Speech" is turned on, that AAC apps can provide the text to be read. I can't see how to do this. Is it possible?
