I filed a bug report using Feedback Assistant (FB13791626) and the resolution on the issue has been updated to:
Potential fix identified - For a future OS update
So it seems like there's a bug in the SDK. Apple have left no other information on the response, so I'm not sure what the release timelines are 🤷♂️
