I could not cause the bug in a sample project, as it did not misbehave in a small isolated project. I spent a few hours to try to get the separate project to mimic the usage in my shipping app, but to no avail. I had to stop and focus on shipping my workaround. The shipping app uses several web views, some javascript evaluation, and other things that make it more challenging to come up with a separate project for it.
