Yeah the problem is still not resolved. Didn't know about it and got myself a Lenovo Thunderbolt 4 dock. When I plugin the HDMI the screen on the MacBook (16" 2019) freezes for a couple of seconds and that's it. External screen won't do anything.
It's ridiculous that apple isn't even able to fix this after a full year.
