Same happened to me did not install after 2 hours and no progress bar movement. I just shut down the computer, re-started and then went to software update again, it recalled 8.5 GB of the previous download and then re-downloaded last 1.06 GB and installed fine.

Had the same issue, seemed linked to when I did the beta download over a mobile connection, eventually to remove any issues from previous attempts I backed up my data, erased the hard disk, did a clean base install of 10.14.6 then downloaded beta 8 after installing the profile from the developer website over the LAN network connection at work. The file downloaded correctly with no errors. I have experienced this issue with previous beta's but a clean install of mojave then loading the beta over a LAN connection always solved the problem.

If you have a Mac with a T2 chip to install from a bootable USB of Mojave you need to boot into recovery (command+r) then once in, go to startup system security and turn off full security to no security and enable boot from USB) then restart holding the option key. Once you have successfully installed and set up Mojave with a password, boot into recovery again and turn on full security and disable boot from disk. If that doesnt work I have used the internet recovery (CMD+Option+R) to install the latest version of shipping software compatible with your MacIf you dont have a Mac with a T2 chip. Just use the (CMD+Option+R) internet recoveryI have used both of these options to revert back to macOS Mojave on a 2019 Macbook Pro (T2).Good luck
