A while ago I created an Apple Developer account and paid for a couple of years. I never published an app though. When my card expired the account didn’t renew. Now I’m ready to reactive my account but I’m getting an error.
When I go to https://developer.apple.com/account I get a message at the top saying ‘Join the Apple Developer Program’ and a ‘Enroll today’ button. When I click it I get sent to an error page with the following message: ‘Sorry, you can’t enroll at this time.’ and ‘Your Apple ID is already associated with the Account Holder of a membership.’
In the Developer app on my Mac I don’t get an option to enroll. I tried creating another Apple ID to check and I got the option to enroll in the app if I log in with that. With the other Apple ID I got an error because it seems like you can only have 1 developer account per identity and I have already verified my identity on my main Apple ID.
If I go to App Store Connect I get a message about the Developer Program Membership being expired and a link back to https://developer.apple.com/account
From Googling the error message ‘Your Apple ID is already associated with the Account Holder of a membership.’ it seems like some people had an issue if they were once part of a team. But I was never part of an organisation. I verified that it’s the same email I used the last time I was in the program.
I did some digging and it seems like I once had some kind of iTunes Connect account that was separate from my main Apple ID but used the same email. I don’t know whether that could influence it.
I tried emailing support but I have received no reply after a couple of weeks. Anyone knows a way around this error or if there is a way to reset the developer account?
