Issue also with my wife's iPhone - but if I delete the App and download it from the App Store, the problem is gone! Of course this doesn't really solve my / my customers problem, since all data is then gone.

Today (Feb 8, 2023) I'm also experiencing a problem with receipt validation failing with a receiptStatus message:
"Receipt not signed by Apple"
This occurs in an App in App Store which has been ready for sale since December 12, 2022
And it's the first time I ever experienced the problem since February, 2019 !!

After my build #1 (depending on successful SKReceiptRefreshRequest) was rejected, I attempted your suggestion in a build #2 - which was also rejected with the justification:
"your app returned an iTunes Store connection error. By continuing without receipt we are unable to access the subscription purchase flow."
Imho, the problem is an occational communication problem in the Sandbox environment.
Still a problem for me in iOS 13.5 - hope Apple will take action ...
No updates I know about. Should be reported as a bug. Sorry, I don't know that procedure 😟
