It is clear to me that @ChrisC knows nothing about web development since it's impossible to debug anything via browserstack. this is just a results of a 5 second careless google search.
Here is my answer. It's obvious that Apple developers has not been able to convince their bosses that a downgrade is necessary and have made life of thousands of web developers like you and I much harder. Apple has filed to provide a way to debug old iPhone devices. There are some answers on stack overflow that suggests installing xCode simulator but that doesn't work exactly like a real phone. The only solid solution right now (which is pretty much stupid) is to purchase an old iPhone with older iOS versions and never update it. If you are lucky you don't need to purchase 3 or 4 phones like me.

Another year has passed and yet Apple customers didn't get simple features such as clicking on a link and having their PWA's opened. I don't know what to say about it but it seems like Apple do not care about trends. Google is beating Apple in every single infrastructure related to PWAs. I'm sure Apple can act more clever than ignoring the gap in Safari PWA world.
I think Apple has disrespected all it's users by not saying a single word about why web push notifications + deep links is not available for PWAs in iPhone. This is a simple request and a huge amount of users will benefit form it.
Apple, please stop ignoring us and say something about it. Hiding will not fix the issue.
