I too need an urgent fix for this. I have made a bootable installer but start up disk refuses to see it so i cant even do a clean install. There has to be a service or something it cant get past. BTW MacBook Air retina. Are we all on the same machine?

I had a similar issue.I could log in then it stopped on the loading screen.Reboot to safe mode by holding down the shift key while it boots. Navigate to library>extensions and move all the files in there out to another location.Worked for me, now the machine feels very snappy.

I’m having the same issue, I log in and the progress bar goes to 66% then the spinning wheel comes up and hangs. I have booted to safe mode and deleted any launch items from Library and ~/Library but still no joyTried setting up a clean account but that only shows in safe mode boot so thats not helpful to diagnose an issue.Any other thoughts fromn anyone?
