I've been encountering a strange crash that occurs randomly on my app's startup. The app compiles and (usually) runs just fine but every so often will close out immediately within a second or two of launching. I have found no methods to consistently reproduce this crash. Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000 Termination Reason: SIGNAL 6 Abort trap: 6 Last Exception Backtrace: 0 CoreFoundation 0x1a5498870 __exceptionPreprocess + 164 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x19d7fbc00 objc_exception_throw + 60 2 CoreFoundation 0x1a551d4f8 -[NSException init] + 0 3 Foundation 0x1a439877c -[NSObject(NSKeyValueCoding) setValue:forKey:] + 284 4 UIKitCore 0x1a796b188 -[UIViewController setValue:forKey:] + 80 5 UIKitCore 0x1a796b10c -[UIRuntimeOutletConnection connect] + 84 I would include the full crash report but for the URL needed for file attachments contains sensitive language somehow?? Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I'm an indie developer. My latest minor update for my game which has been on the Mac App Store for 13 years and which has spent time at #1 on the download charts just started getting rejected for the following reason: Guideline 2.5.2 - Performance - Software Requirements The app installed or launched executable code. Specifically, the app uses the itms-services URL scheme to install an app. However my app is certainly not installing any apps and to the best of my knowlege it is not using any itms/itunes/etc. type URLs in any way, so I can't figure out what would be triggering this claim. Inquiries as to what app I am supposedly installing or what URL I am supposedly using have yielded 'no further information can be provided'. Has anyone run into something similar? Any ideas on obscure scenarios that could trigger this particular rejection? Or any advice on what one should do in my situation? I feel a bit stuck. Has anyone had luck with the appeal process for this sort of thing (to at least get more information)?

One of our apps got hit by the ITMS-91065: Missing Signature issue when we attempted to distribute it to externally via TestFlight. The email said FirebaseCore is missing the signature file within our own framework. After investigation, I realized our recent update to the version of Firebase that has the proper signatures and privacy manifest wasn't enough by itself. Similar to Apple's own instructions on embedding static frameworks since Xcode 15, Firebase instructs us to select the Embed & Sign option. After making the appropriate changes though, we're getting the error in Transporter: Asset validation failed (90085): No architectures in the binary Our setup is as follows: We have an analytics dynamic framework, which depends on Firebase's static framework. The Firebase related frameworks are embedded and signed in our analytics framework. Our app depends on the analytics dynamic framework, which now includes Firebase frameworks within its framework. Since the Firebase frameworks are static, only the Info.plist and the resource bundle with privacy manifest and another Info.plist are included. After searching online, some suggest it's because of the Info.plist included. For example, FirebaseCore.framework, which specifies CFBundleExecutable yet it's not included within the framework itself. I don't expect the executable to get included here though. I opened an issue on Firebase's Github, which has more information. I am not sure how to proceed from here. Is there something I am missing? I would appreciate assistance. Thank you.

I am developing an iOS app that utilizes the timeInDaylight data from HealthKit. This feature is available starting from iOS 17.0+, but it can only be recorded using the Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) and Apple Watch Series 6 or later. How should I release this app given its dependency on timeInDaylight data? Without this data, the app is useless. I understand that the App Store does not allow setting specific health data requirements. I am also concerned that including a "device requirements" warning in the App Store description might not pass the review process. Could you provide any advice on how to approach this situation? Thank you.

We have an app, under our company IOS account which is a white label software our company started with. We own the app store, they own the back end. We have spent the last 12 months developing our own IP, we are now ready to push it to market. Long story short its a rideshare platform, we do about 1500 rides a day and have roughly 300 drivers active on the system. The driver app is fine, we can created this IOS account separately to host that, but we obviously need to push the update of our client app. I realize without our current developer knowing or playing ball we cant "force the update" and thats a hurdle we are okay with. HOWEVER the 5-10 potential days that we have to submit the final build as an update scares the crap out of me, if our developer takes the news poorly they could crash the back end and 300 drivers are out of work and thousands of clients are without rides to work, doctors, school etc (we operate in towns and cities with no other options) If we set our old developer permissions to only see "old app", we then upload "new app" can we somehow seek approvals, do configurations and then still use the new app as an update over the old app rather than as new software? This would simply help eliminate 90% of the time where the old developer could get upset and disrupt or crash the business. Right now the plan is to lock out the old developer, send them an honest, polite email explaining our choice, as well as a bit of a financial bribe (which to be frank we cant afford so it hurts) but lets say they have sometimes been stubborn and not fun to work with, so I am not confident. Im hoping that is not our only option to go through this one of situation. Key notes: New developer says they need 3-5 days after submitted to the app store for configuration and testing (so far testing is on their apple account/testflgiht) Typically beyond that apple could be another 2-7 days for approval and update Even at this point we have no way to force the update, because we dont have access to the previous back end 300 peoples jobs, 1500 peoples daily transportation depend on us not being down for an extended period of time, which to be blunt our current developer may not care about when considering making the transition easy.

Hello, I have been stumped on this issue for a week and am looking for guidance on how to resolve it. I am aware of Guideline 5.1.1 Legal: Privacy - Data Collection and Storage and have read through it. The core functionality of our app is a Message Chatbot. This is the only feature we have, and we require user registration to limit the number of messages that can be sent on the free tier. However, despite explaining why we need user registration and pointing to a number of very similar apps that have the exact same registration system, we are not able to get approval from the App Reviewers. Their message is: "To resolve this issue, please revise the app to let users freely access the app's features that are not account-based." The problem is that we do not have any other features in our app, so we are stuck. I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues and what they did to fix it? Thank you!

Hello, our game Nerd Survivors has been identified as spam. The game is based on an original IP and the only games that should share any resemblance with it are from our company. Today we got notified the rejection due to the violation of Guideline 4.3 but there is no reference to the other application or even a contact to the other developer. We do use Unity as our game engine, so some parts of the code might be shared across different games, but i cannot find any other justification of the failure. "Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam We noticed your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences. Submitting similar or repackaged apps is a form of spam that creates clutter and makes it difficult for users to discover new apps."

Guideline 5.2.3 - Legal Your app contains content or features that may violate the rights of one or more third parties. Specifically, your app provides potentially unauthorized access to third-party audio or video streaming, catalogs, and discovery services. Your app and its contents should not infringe upon the rights of another party. In the event your app infringes another party’s rights, you are responsible for any liability to Apple because of a claim.

We’re looking forward to completing our review, but we need additional information about your app's cryptocurrency exchange services. This information is required to review the app for compliance with App Review Guideline 3.1.5(iii), which requires exchange services only be offered in countries or regions where the app has appropriate licensing and permissions to provide a cryptocurrency exchange. Next Steps Please provide the following information and/or documentation: Confirm in which specific countries or regions you intend to make your app's cryptocurrency exchange services available. Provide documentary evidence of the licensing and permissions for the cryptocurrency exchange services in your app for all of the countries or regions where your app is available. The documentation you provide should indicate where you intend to distribute your app. Provide links to government websites that display the licenses you've secured to provide exchange services in all the countries or regions where your app is available. Provide information on the third-party exchange APIs that your app connects with, including links to public APIs and documentation of partnership with specific third-party exchanges. Do the cryptocurrency exchange transactions occur between the users and the exchange(s) or do you, as the developer, handle the transaction requests with the exchange(s) directly? Are the cryptocurrency exchange features provided in your app decentralized, centralized, or a mix of decentralized and centralized exchange features? Does your app offer new or exclusive tokens or cryptocurrency to users? If so, which ones and on which exchanges can users obtain the currency? Explain the precautions you've taken to comply with anti-money laundering ("AML") and Know Your Customer ("KYC") requirements. If you intend to distribute your app in the United States, provide a copy of your Money Services Business (MSB) registration. Additionally, confirm that you will restrict your app's availability to the states listed on your MSB registration. I'm so confused about this. The reviewer has mention about cryptocurrency exchange services. We enrolled as an organization, in our app doesn't provide cryptocurrency exchange. We just provide decentralized application for users to easily interact with our smart contracts. Basically, all transactions calling smart contracts are generated by our DApps and presented to the users for further verification (meta mask, trust wallet etc) before being sent to the blockchain. So, our app doesn't have any control of user crypto assets. I have no idea. If we need licensing and permissions for the cryptocurrency exchange services. Because, we don't provide cryptocurrency exchange in our app. Am I missing something? anyone can help me to explaine for this case? Thanks

My App has beed rejected for not complying with the Criminal Activity Reporting Guideline 1.7. I have to provide a documentation showing partnership with local law enforcement (where ever the app is used). Here's the response i got: We noticed that your app allows users to report criminal activity, but we need additional information before continuing our review. Specifically, it is unclear if you have partnered with local law enforcement to respond to the reports of alleged criminal activity. To provide users a safe and reliable experience, apps may only be used to report criminal activity in locations where you have the active involvement of local law enforcement. Next Steps To ensure that your app is partnering with the appropriate institutions, you must provide documentation or evidence of your relationship with local law enforcement wherever your app is distributed. Please attach the documentation in the App Review Information section of App Store Connect. Once you have shared this documentation, we will proceed with our review and will let you know if there are any further issues. Resources Learn more about our requirements for ensuring user safety in App Review Guideline 1.0 - Safety. My App provied a list of police, ambulances, etc to use for emergency purposes only. Not allow users to report anywhere! Please help!

Hi. A couple of days ago I've released my new iOS app version update including subscription(in-app-purchase). App is successfully updated and deployed on store but App Store Connect says subscription is still waiting-for-review, and users cannot subscribe our paid features. (API says it's an error; invalid product id) On App Store Connect, it says "A subscription has been returned and is highlighted in the table below." in subscription section. But there's no clue what am I supposed to do next to fix this. I even have received the E-Mail says app update and subscription is successfully reviewed. I am so confused can anyone help me with this?

Hey everyone, I'm facing a bit of a puzzling issue with the review of my app, particularly with the in-app purchase functionality for message extension/sticker packs. I've implemented the entire store using StoreKit for in-app purchases, using exactly the same code like it is in Apple's demo application (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/in-app_purchase/implementing_a_store_in_your_app_using_the_storekit_api). Here's the problem: the products appear correctly according to what's set up in App Store Connect (In-App Purchases section), and the purchase process works flawlessly in sandbox and TestFlight environments. However, during the review process, I received the following feedback: "Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness We found that your in-app purchase products exhibited one or more bugs which create a poor user experience. Specifically, the app kept loading indefinitely when we tapped on “Shop”. Please review the details and resources below and complete the next steps." It seems that the products are not loading properly in the environment used by the reviewers. What's most puzzling is that another app with the exact same store implementation has passed the review and is available in the store (https://apps.apple.com/pl/app/the-prince-frog/id6478831171?l=pl). I'm running out of ideas on what could be causing this discrepancy, especially since everything is functioning correctly in sandbox and TestFlight. Could someone please take a look at the code in Store.swift in this demo project and point out what might be missing? Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. @MainActor func requestProducts() async { do { //Request products from the App Store using the identifiers that the Products.plist file defines. let storeProducts = try await Product.products(for: productIdToEmoji.keys) for product in productIdToEmoji.keys { toDebug = toDebug + ", " + product } var newCars: [Product] = [] var newSubscriptions: [Product] = [] var newNonRenewables: [Product] = [] var newFuel: [Product] = [] //Filter the products into categories based on their type. for product in storeProducts { switch product.type { case .consumable: newCars.append(product) case .nonConsumable: newCars.append(product) case .autoRenewable: newSubscriptions.append(product) case .nonRenewable: newNonRenewables.append(product) default: //Ignore this product. print("Unknown product") } } //Sort each product category by price, lowest to highest, to update the store. cars = sortByPrice(newCars) subscriptions = sortByPrice(newSubscriptions) nonRenewables = sortByPrice(newNonRenewables) fuel = sortByPrice(newFuel) } catch { print("Failed product request from the App Store server: \(error)") errorMessage = error.localizedDescription } }

I'm in the process of submitting an app to the App Store and am preparing screenshots for various display sizes. I noticed that there's an option for a 13'' display, which corresponds to the new iPad Air. However, I can't find a simulator for the 13'' iPad Air in my XCode. Is it mandatory to upload screenshots for this size, or can I omit them? Additionally, how can I download the simulator for the new iPad Air? Thanks!
